Dagmar's painting, 'Lucy' is a Lethbridge Gallery small scale art prize finalist
This painting was started because I was thinking about the wonderful painting by Vuillard, "the seamstress". In Vuillard's work the figure has her identity wrapped up in her profession. The wall paper and the figure are all merged into one as she turns away from the viewer. Lucy however is challenging the viewer. Her gaze is confident. She isn't her profession and is fully aware of image. I was also playing with my colour to create atmosphere.
